Follow Jesus

How to come to faith in Jesus.

What does it mean to follow Christ?

Our Sin

We are all born with a sin nature. Because of our sin, we are unable to have a relationship with God without forgiveness.

Romans 3:23 NLT “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

God’s Gift

We can’t earn God’s forgiveness – it must be given. Jesus gave His life as a sacrifice so that we could be forgiven.

Romans 5:8 NLT “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

Romans 6:23 NLT “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Our Response

We must accept this free gift from God by committing our lives and heart to Jesus.

Romans 10:9 NLT “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

To be made whole, or to be saved is to submit to God and his plan and purpose for our lives. It is a turning from our old ways and turning to Jesus, to ask him for forgiveness from our sins and to give us new life in Him.

Salvation is God’s free gift to us and we become His children.

It is an irrevocable acceptance into the family of God and it is an empowerment to live life wholly and fully with the purpose of reflecting God to the rest of His creation.
